Pathetic

Yesterday Nala had an eventful and expensive day at the vet. She got stripped of her womanhood (as my sister calls it), had a hernia repaired, and got a microchip. I picked her up this morning and they gave me several instructions. One of them was to have her wear a cone for 10 to 14 days. Wha??? I figured a day or so but almost 2 weeks?! We went to Petsmart tonight to get her the next kennal size up because she does not fit in hers with this cone on! It's not mandatory to have it on constantly, as long as we can watch her and make sure she does not mess with her stitches she can take it off. So far we have had no luck leaving her in her kennel while the cone is on. She barks and whines constantly, it's the saddest thing! I might be house-bound for the next SEVERAL days.

The zoo and 4th of July

We started out our 4th of July weekend by going to the zoo with our good friends Liz, Brandon, and their little guy Tayge. It was so much fun, thanks guys! We went to see the bird show while we were there...we were pretty impressed, it was a lot of fun to watch. I'm not sure why but I didn't take many pictures at the zoo other than during the bird show

huge scary bird
this bird collected donations
here we are on the carousel and notice that I'm sitting on a bird...we must have been obsessed with birds on this day?
On the 4th of July we headed to my sister's house. We had our own little fireworks show in their court

Jake and Ryan were our firestarters
Joe joined in for a round but was almost taken out by the fireworks shortly after this picture was taken so he preferred just watching
afterwards we were off to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks

By the end of the night we were beat, but it was a great weekend!
